Platja de Migjorn
Platja de Mijorn (“midday beach”) which covers about 6 kilometres, is undoubtedly the widest and most enjoyable beach in Formentera. It lies on the southern coast of the island, the widest one, between the two extremities Cap de Barbaria and Far de la Mola and is characterised by a varied coast of enchanting beauty, rich in rocky inlets and coves covered with golden sands; the water is of an intense bright blue; just a bit less crystalline than other areas around the isle. Despite the beauty of this part of the isle, the overall tourist turnout –except for a couple of beaches- is not comparable to that of northern beaches, so it is the best for those who want to enjoy the wonderful coasts of Formentera undisturbed. Besides this area does not lack excellent typical restaurants, chiringuitos and other kinds of facilities. The famous beach Es Arenals is also part of the eastern area of Platja de Mijorn.
